The Mrs and I ventured out into Hendo a few Saturdays ago for what ended up being a beautiful day. First stop: the 2021 Hendersonville Farmer’s Market, of course!

I may or may not have had a bit of an agenda while attending the Hendersonville Farmer’s Market: I wanted to meet Myron Hyman, who was scheduled to play on that day. After getting to chat with him and his wife, I can say without a doubt they are some very kind folks and it was a real pleasure of mine to get to meet them both.

We walked around the farmer’s market for a while while listening to Myron play some fantastic covers (heard a little Bob Dylan song I love!) and shopped the market. Bought a nice piece of stoneware that the Mrs loved. Then we walked through some of the Seventh Avenue District, passing Southern Appalachian Brewery and stopping in a shop next door that had some nice furniture.

Walked our way over to Downtown Hendersonville and proceeded to shop. We hit all of our usual places we love: Mast General Store, Moonshine & Magnolias and Sherman’s. Grabbed a bite to eat from our favorite Downtown Hendersonville soda shoppe Mike’s on Main and sat out on a bench outside and had a celebrity sighting as we saw members of Geriatric Jukebox walk by. They play frequently at the 305 Lounge & Eatery next door to Mike’s on Main. And the weather was just perfect. A slight breeze was prevalent and it wasn’t too hot.

Then we went to High Country Furniture on Main Street that we’d not visited before. Wow. They have some very nice and unique pieces of furniture. We were impressed!

Then it was off to drive around Hendo, heading out east into Apple Country that will soon be bustling with visitors and customers when apple season begins. And then out southwest to Laurel Park to visit one of our favorite parks Jump Off Rock.

And then it was back to the homestead. We just love Hendo.
